From March 26th until April 26th 2015, the oldest Caffè in the world will host a treasure of natural fibers

From March 26th until April 26th 2015, the Caffè Florian will host the exhibition “The Jewels from Rwanda” promoted by Soroptimist International d’ Italia – Club di Venezia, an association of women engaged in many projects to support human rights in Africa since many years.

In Rwanda, an important role is still recognized to the vannerie d’art, the art of weaving or braiding natural fibers to create original collections of jewels. Some of these charming pieces are now presented and on sale inside the Rooms of the Venitian Caffè Florian.

The project “Atelier Rwanda” aims to promote the development of craftsmanship strongly attached to the history, tradition and identity of their own territory, in order to innovate and extend the artistry of the country.
